PHOTO SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Prompt: How has climate change impacted your community?

  • Submissions should visually communicate the intricate relationship between humans, animals, and the environment (or any combination of the three) in the context of climate change. The image should tell a compelling story of how these elements are interconnected and highlight the need for collective action to address the challenges posed by climate change.
  • This competition is only open to students with the AFROHUN and SEAOHUN. Faculty and other staff who support students in their activities are not eligible to enter the competition.
  • All photos must be the original work of the entrant and must have been taken with the consent of the individuals in the photo (if there are people).
  • One individual can enter a maximum of 2 photos. Each one will be judged separately.
  • It is the sole responsibility of the entrant to ensure that the photos submitted do not infringe on any relevant copyright.
  • Successful photos in the competition will not be for sale. However, AFROHUN, SEAOHUN, and the One Health Workforce – Next Generation project will have the right to use them in project reporting and communication materials without taking over the copyright.
  • Photos that have been submitted to other competitions and have won are not allowed to be submitted.
  • Any photos deemed inappropriate or in bad taste will not be included. Judges have the discretion to determine what is inappropriate or in bad taste.
  • Only photos that fit in the theme will be shortlisted to compete.
  • Photos taken with smartphones should be of high resolution and clear visual quality.
  • Photo-shopped photos may be rejected.

JUDGING CRITERIA

  • Eminent individuals will be identified and selected to constitute an independent panel of judges.
  • The panel will select one winner and one runner-up from each region.
  • Influence-peddling to influence the results, will automatically lead to disqualification.
  • The winning submissions will be announced at the conference.
  • The judges’ decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  • Prizes: The winning submissions will receive exciting prizes.

HOW TO SUBMIT ENTRIES

  • Entries in the AFROHUN 4th International One Health Conference Photo Competition will be accepted through this submission form: https://forms.gle/WB8McFq4FjtqZ2zN7. Submissions by WhatsApp and any other means will not be accepted.
  • Smartphone images must be submitted at ‘Actual Size’.
  • Digital Camera images must be of high resolution and 3:2 ratio format (portrait or landscape) for printing purposes. Images not in the required 3:2 ratio may not be accepted.
  • Minimum file size 1MB maximum file size 6MB.
    Entries open on 1st March 2024, at 00:00.
    Entries close on 29th March 2024, 5.00 pm EAT.
  • Entrants must follow the following file name protocol when uploading images: ENTRANT’S FIRST INITIAL_ENTRANT’S SURNAME_IMAGE TITLE_COUNTRY. Example: M_NATTIMBA_FIRE BURNS THOU_UGANDA.
